On Saturday, my wife had a haircut appointment in Ann Arbor. Since she was out and about without me and the kids, she took advantage by heading to Arbor Brewing Co. for lunch. When she got there, she found herself in the middle of an AFCAA supporter's event. Being far less confrontational than I, she just sat down to curl up with a pint and her book. But, she was wearing a City scarf (which made sure the AFCAA folks could see), and found herself talking to some of the AA fans.
The guy sitting next to her was in his 50's and actually gave the line about being a City supporter, but it was just to far to go to see a game several times per season. One of the organizers had a friendly chat with her and tried to convince her that 'divided household' would be fun! She declined. But, the best part is that when she was leaving, that organizer said good bye and kidded her about how she was messing up their photos by having a DCFC scarf in the middle of the crowd of their supporters. When she told me that, I laughed remembering how they used photos of a whole SECTION of us in their early promotional materials!
Anyway, she said nobody hassled her or anything and that her read on them was that they were "very vanilla." Here's to ruining even more of their photos this season!
