Anyone got some rumors or favorites for the skipper position? Anything to make it up?
For me the two front runners are Seb Harris and Dave Edwardson. I only have the flimsiest of circumstantial evidence. Dave is popular with fans, had a hell of a season last year, and on the new entry page for the team he's the player front and center, a position we would've expected to see Josh at in previous seasons. On the other hand, Seb can communicate more clearly, has professional experience, and is also eager for the position (which Dave didn't seem to be in his interview). My flimsy circumstantial evidence here is that Seb just signed up for twitter, perhaps to be closer to the fans?
Speculate away. I'm looking forward to any inside knowledge Sean probably has.

Seb can communicate more clearly That's a nice way of putting it.

Seb can communicate more clearly That's a nice way of putting it. I love the Geordie accent and I'm rooting for Dave, but I remember running into a Geordie (several pints into his evening) after a shift at an Irish pub in college. I was wearing a Newcastle kit at the time and this guy tried talking to me. I didn't get a single word from him. Not. One. Dave isn't nearly as bad as that, of course, but Geordies are Geordies.

Don't discount a guy like Troy Watson. Dominating player in the center of the pitch, leads by example. And, IIRC, was captain at SVSU in the fall.

I'm not even certain who will be able to lock down a consistent spot in the starting 11 with some of the new guys coming in. That will affect who wears the band, and it's a good problem to have. I would also say Zach Schewee has to be at least mentioned in this conversation though. One of the last of the OG's, has been ever-present for us for 4 seasons, and has a bit of fire in him at times. Though it's a bit harder to communicate and organize as an outside back.

My gut feeling from the players and others we've talked to in and around the podcast is that it'll be Edwardson. (Seb said "Edwardson or me," though.)
I don't think it'd be Troy Watson. He's got a rep as a really quiet guy, unless Kevin Taylor is trying to tell him how to play.
