I've still been looking into the tartan/kilt thing. So far the best lead I have to having the tartan printed out on cotton or a similar cheap material is via Alibaba, and I strongly believe that using untraceable and likely inhumane Chinese labor to produce anything for the Guard flies in the face of many of our values. Ergo right now there isn't a viable way to produce the material for kilts/shirts/jackets/whatever.
Please, please get in touch if you have or know of a way to begin producing our tartan either in print or loom.

I know my friend who runs the costume/period apparel studio at the Henry Ford swears by Maker's Row (http://makersrow.com/), they're a sourcing service for stuff like this.
I've also asked an old Carhartt contact if she has any suggestions, she's more likely to source a few shipping containers worth of fabrics but she may know of some prototyping services.

I've spoken to a rep from SportKilt, they are looking into the cost for making NGS kilts. Expect a minimum of $200 but likely much more.

I am confirming final costs for all tartan products, we're looking at kilts costing between $210 and $380 (base cost, extras are extra) depending on the level of kilt (Basic, Works, Ultimate) and the size (XL, XXL cost more). Right now the products available for sale will be: Men's Kilts, Women's Skirts, Baby/Toddler/Youth Kilts/Skirts, Flashes, Sashes, and Capes. This is subject to approval from the manufacturer so wait for the order sheets before jumping on anything.
Once costs are confirmed I will make available the order sheets which I will collect and then send to the manufacturer.
Thank you everyone for your patience.
