Man Utd for me. I played FIFA for the first time 11 years ago, and they were the team I did best with from the beginning. The four same guys kept scoring for me; Scholes, Van Nistelrooy, Rooney and Ronaldo. Soon, I started reading into their history and lore; i.e. The Bubsy Babes, Munich, etc, and I was hooked. I'm now a shareholder in the club, and never miss a match, regardless how ugly things have been the last few years. We'll be back though, and we'll win the league again before Liverpool does ??

A fan of the Portland Timbers mostly for the connection between TA and NGS. I traveled out west and got to see them fight to a draw with Vancouver Whitecaps 1-1. I've followed them for a few years now and had the joy of watching them win the MLS cup this past year. Portland is by far my favorite city.

As I'm largely known as the guy who's written a buttload of words about the Fire, I'd say that of course I support the Chicago Fire - with the unfortunate codicil that the transparent, vibrant club I fell in love with is a memory, and a zombie manifestation with the same badge lives on in its stead. That's awful. A true nightmare for any supporter.

I'm a Barcelona fan. I was born there and wore Barcelona diapers. Impossible to escape being a fan in my family.

I am a Fan of Man U b/c of Euro trip. Needed a EPL team to root for and after i saw that i figured what the hell. Been getting hell for it ever since. I am one of the few who enjoys watching MLS on Sundays i cheer for the Sounders. Now before you begin throwing tomatoes at me let me explain. Close friend moved there before i followed MLS. When i began following MLS i wanted a team to cheer for and since i had Zero link to any other MLS Franchise I figured what the hell Go Sounders. I married into a Lebanese family and speak no Arabic so every time i go over there they are watching Arabic TV. The cool thing is a lot of times Lebanese Premier League is on a channel and they put it on for me. Soccer is a Universal language so even if i cant understand the announcers i can watch the game. My team in that league is al nejmeh. My father inlaw even got me a Kit on his last trip there. He also got me a FCB kit b/c he likes them, making me a FCB fan as well. My great Grandmother came to this country from Turin Italy. When my cousin went back in the early 2000's she got me an Italian national team jersey and a Juventus key chain creating two more teams for me to follow.
All these teams made it possible for me to go full supporter once i discovered City 3 seasons ago.

I've inherited my Euro allegiances in funny ways. My sister married a Brit. So, I asked her who he supported, so I wouldn't cross any lines. She told be Tottenham Hotspur, so I consider myself a Tottenham Supporter-in-Law.
On the continent, I follow Borussia Dortmund. I have two students who are die-hards for Dormund, so when the Bundesliga started coming on around here, I tried them and figured I could adopt them, too.
I have yet to see a MLS side that has mattered 1/1,000,000th to me that DCFC does, so I can take or leave any one of them even without taking into account the league's history of bullshit. But, during the last Women's World Cup, I got hooked on the USWNT pretty hard and I'll watch them play just about anybody. Kinda sorry I missed them at Ford Field last year, but I just didn't want to spend 90 minutes in the company of the AO.

Whenever Korean soccer comes up I look up how Daejeon Citizen is doing, for reasons that should be fairly obvious...

In reality, I think you could even say that AO Detroit doesn't even really exist. Sad really... My tickets were 2 sections over from them behind the goal line and my minions' by themselves were making more noise than they were. The game itself actually kinda sucked, cuz it just wasn't competitive. I was really, really bummed when the Aussies bailed. But my minions had ear to ear to smiles for the whole game, so...

I attended what may have been the first USWNT match in Detroit when they played Canada at the Silverdome in 1993 to test the grass field before the 94 World Cup matches. I took my little sister, who was at the time an all-state high school soccer player.

I follow FC Nuremberg because when I was in high school as part of taking German as a foreign language we could participate in a three week exchange program. When the German students came here my exchange partner brought me a Nuremberg scarf as a gift since that was his team and I have followed them since even though they got relegated. I enjoy watching the BPL but I more watch them for entertainment than rooting for a team.
