First off, thanks for creating this forum. Great to have a place to talk City during the painfully long offseason.
For those of us who didn't make it to the tryouts and those who may know more than others....who is going to be sporting the Rouge & Gold come May? There are a lot of names that left the team between Rogers retiring, Mellors-Blair (who we know moved back to England), Murphy, McAtee and VanSlooten running out of college eligibility and likely moving on.
I think Bret Mollon is still around and was named a volunteer coach at MSU. Zach Myers is still around. Andre Morris and Alexandre Bouillennec still have college eligibility at Michigan and SVSU respectively. Danny Dragoi is still around in his coaching gig and Latif Alashe is still working for one of the auto companies.
The team is going to have to find some reliable scoring options with Mellors-Blair gone and I'm curious if there are any rumors stirring about who we might see suit up.

I know Bouillennec is at Coastal Carolina now.
Not sure if he'll be back or not.

TJ VanSlooten is gone to GR for sure.
Charlie MacInnes also moved back to England.
Expectations from many are that Stephen Ademolu, who guest-starred for us in a friendly last year and was the standout at tryouts this year could be on the roster.
If we don't get official announcements soon, I'm going to start extrajudicially releasing other roster tidbits I know that aren't public. (I won't really, but I certainly feel like it. Bursting to see the full roster.)

TJ VanSlooten is gone to Grand Vapids (the land of khaki shorts and mandals) FC for sure. Charlie MacInnes also moved back to England. Expectations from many are that Stephen Ademolu, a Canada's Detroit Sharta 2.0 guy who guest-starred for us in a friendly last year and was the standout at tryouts this year could be on the roster. I seem to remember Charlie saying on twitter that he'd be back if the club wanted him. Maybe I'm mis-remembering.

He might've been hoping to stay in the States.

I've given you a title, Sean, hope you don't mind. I'd feel like a cock if I set it as my own title, but since it was granted... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ As for Charlie, I haven't seen any 100% word on if he's gone. But I think we can all agree that moving back to England and working in education there makes the logistics of returning for the summer somewhat more difficult.

Charlie just recently changed his Twitter profile pic to one of him playing for City.
Take that however you want.

We know Dave Edwardson, Seb Harris and Danny Dragoi will be back if asked (and I can't imagine them not being asked.)
Troy Watson said he's coming back.
Josh Rogers is officially coaching and not playing.
Bret Mollon is at MSU, but Caesar said he's still dealing with the recovery from the injury that sidelined him last year -- he may coach GKs rather than play.
Bouillennec is staying in Carolina this summer, it appears.
Assumption is that Cyrus is back, Caesar specifically mentioned him when talking about guys he thought would benefit from the bigger field at Keyworth than Cass.
Bennett Jull said he'd come back if asked and the team could house players again; we know from Alex Wright that Caesar has a budget to house 4-5 guys over the summer if necessary. Same for Ross Hendry.
Agree with Sean that Charlie's likely not coming back, he seems pretty engaged in his career as a kindergarten special ed teacher (no, really). He used Caesar as a professional reference.

We talked (as DCFCFC) to some City players from the 2015 team to try to get a feel for the roster situation. It's clear that the reason the club haven't released the roster is that it's still being finalized, not that they're trolling or waiting for marketing purposes. It feels like Caesar and the owners are taking their time and considering all the options they have, and there's lots of moving parts.
With the exception of Micky Lamb who gave us permission to explain the situation with his role at Saginaw Valley State that keeps him away from City thanks to NCAA rules, we can't say who we talked to or who we know about yes or no. (Also note that we only talked to existing players, and by no means all of them. We also didn't get into trying to identify new players, of whom there might be 15 or more.)

No surprise, but James Murphy is heading back to the UK. Only played for us last season, but was solid.
